Pengertian Descriptive Text
Descriptive text adalah salah satu jenis teks atau tulisan dalam Bahasa Inggris yang di dalamnya menjelaskan, mendeskripsikan, atau menggambarkan suatu benda, binatang, atau orang melalui sifat yang melekat pada objek deskripsi.
Jenis-jenis Descriptive Text
1. Deskripsi Tempat
Jenis teks deskriptif atau descriptive text ini menjelaskan tentang sesuatu berkaitan dengan tempat. Adapun bentuk informasi yang dapat di sampaikan melalui jenis descriptive text yang satu ini misalnya lokasi keberadaan tempat.

Ciri-ciri Descriptive Text
1. Menggunakan kata sifat (adjective). Misalnya: cute, small, big, tall, dan lain-lain.
2. Kata kerja yang dipakai menggunakan bentuk Simple Present Tense.
3. Sebagai ilustrasi untuk pembacanya, teks deskriptif menggunakan figurative language.
4. Descriptive text memakai action verb, misalnya: write, walk, talk, dan sebagainya.
5. Di dalam descriptive text menggunakan kata benda yang bersifat spesifik. Contohnya: my car, my computer, my mother, my room, dan sebagainya.
